I've got a burris fast fire 2 mounted on my M&P 40 pro, and its holding up fine, several people in the club have had FF2's on 1911 slides in 45 and they have been runing for over 2 years at week/monthly matches

I used the FF2 mount and just replaced my rear sight. I can't remember how the rear sight is on the walther, I wouldn't worry about the Burris as much as changeing the slide mass just enough to cause function problems. but it looks like it can be done

If a slide mount isn't available for the walther my suggestion would be to go with M&P 22 and use the M&P mount,

I might give that a shot I'm thinking of putting black on black sights on the M&P for an Ipsc gun that would leave me a mount and a fast fire to tinker with
