I picked up a new 9mm Shield last week. I took it to the range today, and
fired 50 rounds of Federal 115gr. ammo. There were no issues. It does kick pretty good, but is easy to control. I fired the last 20 rounds one handed.
I did clean and lub it, before going to the range. I looked over the recoil
spring, and did not see any problems. After shooting the 50 rounds, I took
it apart again, examined the recoil spring, and did not see any problem.
You really have to be careful when putting the recoil spring in the pistol.
It slides into place, and must be straight and seeded correctly. This is well documented in the manual. There is no "slot" the spring slides into, as in some other pistols I have owned, it justs rests in it's intended place.
For people who don't first read the manual, this could cause problems for the novice shooter, of which I am one.
