    i think that is a good choice. modern features etc, my kimbers are well made and run fine without a lot of tinkering. you can always acquire the others on your list when the time is right.

    besides, you and your dad decided together without the meddling of all of us ner'do'wells on this forum. congrats.

    my dad has brought up this pistol.. and i think i will go with it :) ive always loved the look of 1911's and have always heard they are really good guns.

    Great gun. I was gonna suggest a good 1911 that you'll keep forever, since your dad gave it to you.

    (Wet blanket part) Have you shot 1911's much? My experience has been that cut down 1911's are much more difficult to master. BTW- I carry a 5" Kimber 1911 daily.
