I have the ignition switch out of my car working on it. It is made of zinc, Zamac I presume. I am trying to bust the tumblers out of it so it will turn again. I will then put it back into my car and save the $240 it cost for a new one. It is rejecting drills, a hammer and a hacksaw. This thing is tuff and is completely defying me at every turn. It dawns on me that the universal contempt for zinc handguns might be a little undeserved. This stuff is tougher than the glass-filled plastic I see guns made of. I have a SNS that is 44 years old. I have been treating it with kid gloves because it is made of zinc. If it is as tough as this lock is then its no wonder that it still shoots after 44 years.
