This rifle has gone through several versions and upgrades over the past couple of years and I think it's finally complete. I took delivery of the Surefire SOCOM 556RC suppressor last Friday.

It started out at a 10.5" factory LMT SBR. I swapped the upper out for a 12.5" BCM wanting just a bit more length and started making upgrades from there.

    Specs:

    LMT SBR lower
    Chip McCormick flat trigger
    Bad ass ambi safety
    Magpul CTR stock
    Magpul ASAP sling mount
KNS anti rotation trigger & hammer pins
    Magpul MIAD grip
    BCM 12.5", 7 twist upper
    Raptor charging handle
    Troy 11" Battlerail
Surefire Vampire Scout light (LED & IR) in IWC mount
LDI DBAL I2 laser (Visible green & IR)
Surefire SR07-D-IT switch (controls both the light and laser)
IWC Weapon Control Mount-N-Slot and OCP sling mount
Aimpoint T1, 4MOA, Larue true cowitness mount and TD cover
    Troy rear BUIS
    Daniel Defense fixed front sight
    Magpul MS3 sling
    Surefire SOCOM 556RC suppressor

I wonder if a UBR stock would help it balance better, hmmm........

To gain a bit more real estate out front for my support hand, gain a little velocity and drop the muzzle blast a touch.

i guess it's ok, if you like that sort of thing.:dunno:

It's not really done until the .22 matches it exactly! If you come up with a DBAL for the .22, I'm gonna have to figure out how to put someone on ignore.

Surefire makes a training (fake) SOCOM 556RC suppressor and I'm fighting the urge to buy one for the training upper. If I were to buy another DBAL for that training upper I'd fully expect someone to have me committed.

Why would you stop with that paper weight you have there? :D

That is a really nice setup that I actually am semi-peacing together as I go. I want a titanium suppressor but the one you have there is SWEET

How do you like the QD on those Surefires?? Ive been trying to decide the between the Socom762 and the SDN-6. The Gemtech HVT was an option at one point, but recently they're CS has not impressed me.

Nice. I am just learning this now... 'building' a rifle... and calling it 'done' are two entirely different things I am finding. :)

You made a great set up but it looks a little muzzle heavy with the can on board.
    The big question is;
    "How's it shoot??? :D

This is exactly what I thought when I saw the CTR.

How? Esrice has an 80+ page thread going that won't end until he's dead and even then his progeny will probably keep it going beyond that. It should probably just be stickied by this point so it will stop floating around.

The QD works well enough but even though Surefire claims this to be an improved design it still gets difficult to remove the can once carbon builds up. All you have to do it shoot it to heat it up and it comes right off though. Not a big concern or me.

The rifle shoots well and has since I put it together. I've yet to have any sort of malfunction.
