With a grant from Pheasants Forever we were able to get some of our own training guns for Hunter Safety Class. The boss ok'd it as long as we acquired non-functional arms. Until now we have borrowed guns from the CO's.

The single-action is a non-firing replica with working action. The double-action is a green gas airsoft that realistically loads cartridges. The 1911 is another non-firing replica to demonstrate safe loading, chambering, safety, etc.

The muzzleloader was disabled by filling the nipple with jb-weld. I painted the stock/grips blaze orange so that no one will argue with me about having these things in public education programs.
We are grateful to LaGrange County Pheasants Forever. In a few months we will get our long guns too.

You might want to consider neutering the airsoft so that it can't fire as well. I did so with both the 1911 and M4 replicas I use in classes. All of the controls still work, but they can't fire pellets anymore.

We got our long guns! These are a special training gun kit from Mossberg. They are made special order and are non-firing, but still function properly. These are going to be great for safe handling exercises.

They were funded with a grant from National Wild Turkey Federation.

Those are great! Get some snap caps or other dummy ammo and you are ready to go.
