It's been busy and I haven't been on much lately. We returned from South Dakota last Monday and I left for a softball tournament in TN Thursday. Finally have a chance to post about taking my 12 yr old granddaughter prairie doggin'. Here she is right after poppin' one on her very first shot with my Savage LRPV .223. The p dog was in those tracks running uphill to the right at 161 yards.
She had a great time shooting and hanging with our host's 12 yr old daughter. They rode horses and chased around the 2200 acre ranch on a Rhino ATV for hours after we finished shooting.
It was a heck of a trip and included the edge of the storm that dropped record hail on Vivian, SD. Officially just over 8" but the guy who recovered that hail stone measured it at 11" before it began to melt. Thankfully, the hail passed a few miles north of us. Every building and vehicle in Vivian sustained hail damage to some degree.
Quite a few prairie dogs sustained irreparable damage as well. I recommend the activity to you ladies.......and gents.
