Our SHTF survival rations contains 80% Mountain House, 15% canned meats, rice, beans, ect. I have some MRE but my military days with the first generation MRE (served from 1981-1986, US Army Reserves), was horrible. Major gastrointestinal issues after a few days of those things. Truly, they have improved since those early dinosaur days that I served.
I order, received and tested these Peak Refuel meals. Got my wife who is only going to consume this type of food in the event of SHTF as she claimed, tried then and honestly, they are Mountain House quality. Great ingredients. I would recommend increasing the water from the 1 and 1/3 cup of boiling water to 1 and 2/3rds cup or a full 2 cups.
