I was pulled over yesterday evening for going 57 in a 40 zone. My trusty CZ P01 was resting comfortably in my Crossbreed IWB horsehide/kydex holster, sporting 14+1 rounds of Remington 124 grain +P Golden Saber (what a great name!) ready to go at a half second's notice.
I didn't inform, as Colorado law does not require it. The officer took my license and insurance information back to his SUV cruiser and returned minutes later with a smile and a warning. I thanked him and went on my way.
I have three stickers on the back window of my truck:
1. Jump Wings
2. NRA
3. Hyro-Carbon Burning Eco-Vehicle
Not sure why I didn't get a ticket, if one of the stickers saved me, or the sheriff was in a good mood, or perhaps it was because I was speeding in B**f**k, and the only thing I might possibly have harmed was a coyote or an antelope.
In any case, I did not inform, he did not enquire, and he and I were both safer as a result of my carrying, AND my not informing.
