Background: I'm looking to use as many pieces as I possibly can from my existing 16" AR-15 to legally piece together a .300 BLK AR-15 Pistol. I fully plan to own both complete rifles in the future, but as a college student, I am curious how cheaply I can have both NOW. Besides, I will value the experience of ripping them apart and swapping pieces in and out anyway.

    What I have....

16" PSA Midlength AR-15 in Nato 5.56 with complete Magpul Furniture

What I want minimalist "legal" route possible... (least amount of extra parts to make the conversion)

.300 blackout AR-15 pistol (similar to below)

Additional parts I suspect I need...

    -Virgin complete lower pistol receiver
-Barrel (barrel nut and micro gas block included)
    -Pistol length gas tube
    -Carbine length handguard

Tools I suspect I will need
    -AR-15 wrench
    -Vise

Am I leaving any tools or parts out??

Thanks for the input... I've built a lower before, but the upper I have was purchased assembled so I'm a little blurry on exactly what additional items I may need.

I guess I should note that I will be using a completely different lower.... basically just going to take as many parts as i can off of my existing upper.
