I bought a new extended slide release, but I can't seem to get the pin out, that holds the old release in. I watched a video on how to do it, online &
they just pushed it out with a punch. Mine is not so easy. Its a Gen, 2.5,
Glock 21. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks AL :wallbash:

Lay Glock on table or bench on the right side and put punch on pin and tap with hammer. If your gun has not been apart much it can be alittle tight...it will loosen up after afew times in and out..

wiggle the slide stop back and forth while pushing the pin. When you pull the pin, you'll notice a channel/ring cut into it, right where the slide stop lines up. The stop can catch in that little channel and prevent it from coming out.

Thanks everyone, I got it out. Sprayed a little PB Blaster on it & let it sit for an hour.
Tapped it a few times & it came right out. Then had to wiggle a lot to ge it back in.
But I did get it. Thanks again........AL

The trick is to keep pressure pushing on the pin as you wiggle.
I've had half a dozen Glock, new and used. Never ever ever had to use a hammer, or anything other than the Glock tool, to get that pin out.
