None of this was particularly chosen for application, just surplus I had laying around the shop.

The Mrs. likes it in its current configuration, she is the one who shoots it, so that is what matters.

One of us will take it to 300 this week and see how it performs.

Go all the way old school with an external adjustment Unertl or an old Lyman external mount with micrometer spindles. Way cool and they were very accurate and repeatable.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Unertl, Lyman Super Targetspot, Fecker, even internal adjust old school long tube Redfield 3200....you can't go wrong...Superbly accurate and way cooler than anything else around in my opinion....

Except for yours having the scope and base, it looks exactly like mine which came to me via the CMP about 10-12 years ago. Heavy as a boat anchor, but my favorite .22 and the one that gets shot the most.

I'll be curious how you make out at 300 meters...please update us when you take it out.

    cheers,
    Roger

I believe I got this one in 2004.

Shot out to 317 yards, as far as I could go without moving targets around.

    No problem.

Wolf Match Target and Extra Match shot pretty well, old Eley National Match had the least vertical.

Wonder how Roger came out on this? Especially since the 300 yard range ended up being 340ish yards?

Depending on budget, my two choices would be a Weaver V16 ($400) or on the higher end a Leupold VX6 4-18 EFR. That Leupold has the most clear and crisp image I have ever viewed.
