Recently picked one up on clearance at wallyworld. After cleaning all the black crud off,it actually cycles nice.
mounted a Nikon scope. Only had winchester ammo to try. This thing shoots awsome. Once you get over the "ugly"it really is a nice rifle.

What did you have to do to get it cycling properly. I'm having feed issues but I'm new to bolt action.

Was very dirty. Cleaned and oiled. Haven't had any issues.

OK thanks for the advice. I've narrowed it down to the box magazine. The follower seems to tilt back a little so there's just enough for the bolt not to catch it when it slides forwards. I'm going to check the magazine for any areas that catch on the back of the follower.
