Does Smith make a .44 mag that is already cut out for moonclips from factory? Preferably 5"

.44 mag doesn't need moon clips. .45acp does.

Not that I know of... You'll probably end up having to buy a 629 and send off the cylinder for work.

I think he is asking for the ease of quick loading. I don't think that they do. At least I have never seen one.

Precisely, but I would like to have a .44 with moonclips. Just didn't know if it was possible.

It's possible, but not from the factory.. I have the TRR8 in .357mag -- great gun, but I've never bought a tool to load the moon clips.. don't see it being worth it at this point in time.

That is what I thought speed loaders were for. One twist and you drop 6. Faster than the moon clips, drop 3 twice.

If you have ever used moonclips I think you would find that they are substantially faster than a speed loader, Looks like I'm going to have to have another of my current ones sent to the gunsmith

Speed loaders are your friends ;-)

Wife bought a .44MAG with speed loaders to carry around the farm. She seems to like it... Also, she can quickly re-load and be ready to fire again as fast as she can drop and load a clip. A .44MAG will definitely ruin someone's day worse than a 9mm ;-)

TK Customs moonclips.com they do machining to accept moon clips and sell moon clips.
