Bought it NIB, and put just over 1,500 rounds through it, and then FTE problems started. Most every round of the bulk Federal doesn't eject, plus feed problems on occasion. Tried the Golden bullets and these give me lots of FTF problem. Can't figure out why because I can cycle the action manually and either brand behaves as it should. I do clean the gun regularly just as they show in Ruger videos.

Anything I can try before contacting Ruger about it? I figure they'd want me to ship the gun to them, and I'd rather fix it myself than part with it.

The first thing I do to any MKIII is remove the LCI metal tab. I had one that was having fte's until I removed the tab. Since that one the first thing I always do is remove the tab. I haven't had another fte or ftf with any MKIII.

You should have no issues at all with Federal ammo. Contact Ruger or removing the LCI tab. I you remove the tab, keep it so you can reinstall it if you do send the gun to Ruger!
