I knew a guy that did this. Bought several former bank branches for his business but used the vaults for "personal storage".

Reminds me of a former boss who told about being a student at Purdue in the early 70's.
An old bank in Lafayette closed, they were auctioning stuff off, and up a few floors there was a really cool standalone safe.

He told me he bid on the safe and got it for only $100, and patted himself on the back for getting such a great deal.

THAT IS until he looked into getting it moved down out of there.
The cost was so high he just said screw it and walked away!

So Moore's Law somewhat implies continual 'advancement' in chip technology but the reality in electronics is more in line with the phrase often heard in military training that states, All electronics will always fail and at the time they are needed the most. The functioning lifespan of many electronic gadgets is in the same realm as the lasting effects of most farts.

Maybe that's the way they all should go. What happens if an EMP goes off?
I use a combination and have a key for backup also.
