Savage Model 42

Ive been looking into one of these little rifles since they came out but dont really know much about them does anyone have one if so what are your opinions on it.

I do not have one, nor a model 24 they are based off of. However I am very interested in getting a couple of these for my sons as "first firearms". I too would be interested in hearing some opinions on them and whether or not anyone has seen one at a dealer around central Indiana.

saw a 24 with the .22 and 20ga at the 1500 it was in pretty nice condition but the price was just too high for me
