Well that settles it, INGO trip to the range.

Any work on a suppressed load yet, seen a few loaded remington 405 grain. Even though 500-600 was working loads I had always heard about.

I was thinking about threading the barrel on the Savage 458 I will be having put together..... That big nasty Bowers can hanging off the front sure would be sweet. We will have to plan a range day once its done. :rockwoot:

Range Report: Make sure you watch the videos in HD. These are all the videos we took.

Alan from A&A was nice enough to let us come out and bang on his steel for a few hours. I have a few safe queens, but from the start of this build, I'd planned on getting this ugly. It's going to be a shooter. Ammo was 300gn Corbon Hunter JHP. Next AAR vids will be Red Star 325gn FTX and 405gn lead Subsonics.

Not only did the suppressor cut down on the severe noise and concussion from the 458 Socom, the recoil was significantly reduced, and actually rather pleasant.

Four rounds on an AR-500 Dueling Tree: The first is a grazing hit, but shots 3-4 are full power.

458 SOCOM hits on the flapper: The energy dump on the flapper is amazing. After the second hit, the flapper is jammed with dirt.

458 Socom vs .223 on Steel: 458 knocks the steel around, 223 just makes noise. Count the 10 hard hits early - the remaining hits are all .223.

First, let me just say, I hate you guys.:D That looks like more fun than should be legally allowed.

Does that suppressor just thread onto the flash hider threads? Are your 325 FTX's significantly louder than the 405 subsonics? Have you shot any of the 325's through a chrono with/without the suppressor?

Yes, it's threaded for the end of the RR barrel.

The 325FTX's are quite a bit louder due to the supersonic 'crack' of the bullet. My 325's chrono at @1800FPS. The chrono doesn't affect the velocity. The subsonics are quiet enough to shoot in residential areas. (not that I condone that...)
