Smallest 1911 9mm

I currently have a couple of excellent 9mm carrys; a CW9 and a S&W CS9, but there is something visceral and compelling about a 1911. I carried one during the recent unpleasantness in SE Asia. And, every now and again I develop a fever for small(er) 1911.

I have a fairly good sense of the smaller 1911s using 9mm. And, I know Sig is coming out with a P series 9mm (larger P238?). But, I'm not always aware of everything; especially stuff in the pipeline. So, please tell me what you know about current models and anything you know is coming. The therapy just isn't working. Many thanks.

Check out the Springfield EMP and take a look at Para Ordnance. I'm wanting the EMP, bad. Just can't pay the price.

the EMP is a 1911 patterned gun , but it does not take 1911 mags.
the Kimber or Springfield ultra compacts are the smallest 1911s in 9mm I have seen..

Maybe not a TRUE 1911 in design, but what about the Kimber Solo? Like most Kimbers, it's a 1911 SHAPED gun.

Springfield EMP is the smallest 1911 9mm. They designed the gun specifically around the 9mm.

Top two most popular would be EMP and Kimber Ultra Carry II. Others I've seen a lot of Is STI Escorts. Next would be a Colt.

STI just released a cheaper 1911 similar to their full size Spartan.

I will own an EMP one day. Just bought a STI Trojan. Plus have a XD9SC which does just fine.

One thing to remember is that you have to buy mags etc directly from SA for EMP. Like stated it was custom built around the 9mm.

kimber has a super carry model which is very small. but im not sure if it comes in a 9mm or not. but def. something to look into
