I got this when my dad died a few years ago, thinking that I might rebuild it, seems hopeless really, but it is a neat gun (?) I’ve done some research and I know they were made between the 1940’s and 1950’s maybe I’ll just put it together as I find parts, just posting for the old gun guys ( don’t cry because it’s a wreck) don't know why the cut in the barrel.....

First and foremost, you need to measure from the front of the receiver to the closest end of the cut in the barrel. If that is 18" or less, deposit it in the Ohio, now.

If it is greater, you don't have much to work with there. Would it be possible to buy another and have it in memory to him? They are not expensive guns but parts would cost a fortune IF you could find them.

Sorry bro, don't mean to be a downer, but I would find another hill to make my stand on...

Kinda what I thought, could donate to a knife maker to use the steel. Dad wasn't much of a shotgun guy, but loved "projects" He had a WWII Panzerbusche, with the original barrel, he wanted to convert it to .50 BMG, I told him it was worth more as a whole, he ended up selling it for a boatload of money...

I knew a guy who blew out a barrel in a double barrel about 6 inches up the barrel. He used it as a single barrel. When the ATF found him out with it they charged him with possession of a short barreled shotgun even though he didn't use it. You really need you measure that cut, just because it is a barreled receiver doesn't make o difference to the man...
