What's the proper way to swage a 556 or crimped 223? Primers are going in fine. Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Anyone got any good loads for cfe223 powder?

Swage just enough to not crush the primer. Pressue is your friend... Too much and you crush and too little you rish them falling out.

What kind of tool are you using to swage? It'll take a little bit of trail and error to figure it out.

As for CFE223 my guns like 26.0gr over a 55gr bullet and I'm getting 3100fps out of a 16" barrel. (Obviously start a little lower and work it up in your own gun)

If primers are going in fine then you are good to go..Unless you are opening them up too much??
Get your CFE223 data from the Hodgdon load site..Bill.

Was going by hornady. Max charge for 556 is around 2800fps. No case stress and barely flattening out the primer.
    Max load is 27.5

The "Proper" way starts with a $2.00 drill bit (To cut crimp), all the way up to a $100.00+ Dillon SuperSwage tool...With a lot in-between...Bill
