I have fired a Judge but not the S&W. A whole bunch of power in a 4" revolver. Loaded with .410 shot shells, u cannot get much better than these for a home defense pistol (for those who feel it an impractical weapon). I cannot vote since I have not handled the S&W, but I think u would be well served with either one.

I have never had an issue with Taurus, however I personally think that S&W is better! Plus you get an extra round & the choice to run 3 different calibers...
.410, .45LC, .45ACP

Feels great in the hand and its all so sexy...

I would not hesitate to buy either one. If both were available I would go with the SW.

Having had two taurus revolvers that needed repairs, I'd only buy a S&W out of those two options.

i had the chance to shoot the judge a couple weeks ago, shot a couple 410 shot shells, was pretty cool, nice little pattern, then shot one of the 410 self defense rounds with 3 00 flattened buckshot and the rest full of bb's, made a nice nasty little hole with a nice spread of smaller holes around it, looks like it would make a nice way to let the BG know they were unwelcome.

edit: voted for the s/w just because i am a bit of a fanboy.
