    Howdy,
This is on a Gen1 G17 (1986). Is this typical wear on the slide, where the barrel contacts? Finish is worn/shiny.

I don't know the service history, or round count. But is there cause for concern, or normal? I'm not a Glock guy, but hope to be...
I know I should probably change out the recoils spring since, again, don't know the round count. Anything else I should look for? Or parts updates?

Thanks in advance for helping a Glock noob!!

Perfectly "normal". That's what happens to all autos. You will also notice some wear on the top of the barrel bit the muzzle as well as on top of the barrel just in front of the chamber area. As well as inside the slide just in front of the ejection port.

I have a G17 I purchased new in 1988. Just checked it. That is normal wear. And the gun you have there in the picture looks like it has the original Glock front sight. My gun has fired more than 40K rounds. Years ago, I replaced the sights with Novaks.
