Greetings all - was looking around on a couple of other forums and thought I saw something about Walther coming out with a new version of their PPK in a 9mm? I've never liked the .380 caliber and would be much more inclined to go after a 9mm gun as I love the look of it.

    Would appreciate any insights!

I fail to understand how the traditional PPK platform could possibly work with 9mm P given that it is a straight blowback weapon. HiPoint manages this by making larger caliber blowbacks that weigh about 3 1/2 tons so that sheer mass compensates for the lack of a locking mechanism, but I just don't see the PPK doing it. This is not to say that there is any reason why they could not make a gun that takes on the approximate size/shape/appearance of a PPK with a locking mechanism which would work just fine.

the only lightweight pistol to work with the 9mm in a blowback design was the HK P7. and it isnt a true blow back... it is a delayed blow black system with a piston under the barrel that will keep the slide in position long enough so that enough gas has escaped before having the slide move back.
