Our good friends to the east have some fancy pants gun detection system installed in the entrances of Hancock regional health. I’ve been in a lot of hospitals much larger including some in IL with not more than a 85yo greeter in a purple vest saying hi.

Did I miss an important happening?

It definitely doesn’t work 100% of the time though…..

Yes IIRC there are 5 settings

Federal grant money came through would be my guess...

Almost all hospitals have this , John Q and the idea of people going postal during covid instituted it, all IU Health locations have something similar as well as protocols to lead disgruntled family members to lock down rooms.
