The P238 is a fantastic deep concealment handgun. After the initial issues with the round recoil spring and the 1st gen magazine followers, the P238 became a highly reliable firearm that anyone could trust.

For me, the most desirable of the P238 is the Extreme Edition. With the G10 grips, and an extra round in the mag you just can't do much better than the Extreme Edition.

    P238 Extreme

The cheapest price I've seen yet:
3-0216991 - SIG Sauer P238 Extreme Semi Automatic Handgun .380 ACP 2.7" Barrel 7 Rounds Hogue G-10 Grips Black Hard Anodized Frame

I picked up the SAS (anti snag) for carry, and I liked the bi-tone design. If that doesn't matter to you, just pick whatever model has the features and design you like. You can pick up an extended mag or two for any of them.

I had a tough time deciding between the Extreme and the SAS. I really like the rolled edges of the SAS and definately a plus when its your carry gun. The Extreme felt way better in my hands plus I liked the G-10 grips. I ended up with the extreme for that reason; with the addition of the 7+1. I've cycled about 50 rounds through it remarkably accurate for it's size. I think you will be happy with either choice

I like anything with a 1911 design infulence. And some of the P238s really get me breathing hard. However, the Kahr CW9 has the almost exact dimensions, but with the benefit of the larger round. Also $250 cheaper. But, if Sig ever makes one in 9mm, the Kahr is toast.

Mine is an SAS also. I really love the little thing. The one thing that drew me towards the SAS is that it already had the night sights on it. February will mark its second year in my pocket.

Best little pocket gun on the market

If you are going to carry it in your pocket save your $$ and buy the basic black model. These are point and shoot guns and in my opinion a laser sight works better than night sights for this type of PP gun.

I've had mine almost a year with zero issues. I added a CT laser sight on mine and bought the Sig leather pocket holser for around $20 DC. I've owned just about every .380 out there; before this Sig I carried a Kahr. Someone has to come out with an extra super gun before I give this one up.

I had a Nitron P238 and it was a fantastic firearm. The only issue I had was holster wear. The Sig Nitron finish just doesn't hold up. I have had the same problem with other models. I began to worry that it was going to lose much of its value because of the wear. Maybe others haven't experienced this, I don't know. Just my :twocents:. Go with the stainless steel slide if at all possible. I wish they made one that was entirely stainless, I would buy it without hesitation.
