Whenever I look at the latest and greatest red dot type sights I never seen the trijicon reflex sights anymore. Is there a reason for that? Are the aimpoints & eotechs just that much better than the reflex sights? I always like the idea of never having to put batteries in the sights.

    Any thoughts?

Aimpoints come with batteries installed and even if you leave them on all the time, you shouldn't have to worry about changing them out for a few years.

Not quite years, not even an entire year...
Matter of fact about only 2 months of constant and continuous On... :D

And size (everyone's going smaller/lighter these days).

    And available mounting options.

I think a little bit is also training...
    Or the lack there of...

I have run across a FAIR number of persons who simply do not understand how to use their ACOGs at Close Quarters without adding a smaller reflex somewhere else... :dunno:

And yes I did write a nasty gram to Aimpoint on there claim and reality... ;)

And was their response something to the effect of "dropping your M4 off the side of a rocky cliff is not covered"?

You are the only person on the planet to have Aimpoint batteries die after only 2 months. :D

I bought five Aimpoint micros when Midway was clearing them out in December. They've all been on since. The one I had before that has been running at least 2 years.

    But I'm the lucky type.

Actually after I had it translated from Lawyer speak to normal English all it really said is we will look into your complaint...
Just wondering why it took them 2 pages of words to say that though...

I did not throw it of a Rocky Cliff either, for you information...
I was working in the SouthWest Region of Iraq at that time. I would have loved to see something like that there!!!
