first time shooting a 1956 win 94 in 30-30 158 gr bullet. its shooting high at 50 yds, 6 inches, how will it do at 100 yds? I only had one box of ammo and did not get to try it at 100 ys, hoping gravity will lower it, I have the rear sight down as low as it will go

You need to stop rubbing them in meth for luck.

You are good for 200 yards with that poi but will still be most of that 6 inches high at 100, like 5.8 inches.

Time for a taller front blade.

This is for a 150gr bullet with a muzzle velocity of 2200fps.
50yd zero will have you on at 100yds.

Did you find a taller front blade? Some of them came with a brass dot on top of the blade that can get broken off. (Don't ask me how I know.)

I always was dead on with 170 gr. flat points at 100 yards with the elevation ramp in the 3rd notch from the bottom. 3-4 inch group. Can't ask much from an old 94. LOL.

One possible concern is how much pressure the magazine tube is putting on the barrel near the muzzle. Relieving pressure from the magazine tube, if it exists, would bring the point of impact down.

I've tried shooting high. I was in US Army BCT in 1974, and 'accidently' ingested some recreational pharmaceutical or another. HEY! IT WAS 1974! Anyway, the M60 and M2 tracers were especially pretty that night. Can't recall if I actually hit anything or not. Shooting high is generally not recommended.

I always checked my band tensions on my stock and barrel. Too much will cause binding with the barrel heat and vibration.
