I'm guessing some have their deposits down for the Shield. Not sure if I like 599.

$599 is full boat retail for the black. IIRC $639 is full retail for the bitone.

I picked up mine in black from PSS for $519. If I like it well enough I may get it in bi tone when it's available.

That's more like it. Once supply and demand equal out, the black should settle in around $499 at the regular shops for black.
