Looking to rebarrel my father's Rem 725; it was his first (and only) rifle, purchased new after he immigrated to the US back in the mid-50's.
Long story short, the rifle was in a nasty flood and the bore rusted and pitted. I cleaned it up and it'd shoot 3-4 moa while the bore was filled with a never-ending mix of carbon & copper fouling and even some rust.
Continued to clean it, using Wipeout foaming bore cleaner and eventually resorted to an electrolytic cleaner that finally got everything out and the bore back down to metal. Now it's shooting 5-6 moa.
Tested multiple factory loads and bullet weights from a cleaned and from a fouled barrel.

I'd like to get it to where it can be a decent hunting rifle again; so figuring a barrel replacement in the same caliber (.30-06) would be the most economical and straightforward way to go.

Any smiths up in the Michiana area that would swap the barrel with a Rem 700 take-off barrel in the same caliber?
Thanks for any input or advice.
