    FAQ:
    What is this all about?
DNR Winamac (DNR-W) approached us in 2012 about helping them do a youth day at Winamac where the range would be closed to the general public and we (INGO) would introduce new youth shooters to the sport using rifles, shotguns and bow & arrows.

    --BACKGROUND THREADS---
Link to old feeler thread on teaching the youth at Winamac
Link to proposal sent to Winamac DNR
Reply from Winamac DNR making it a go
    --END BACKGROUND THREADS--

What should I bring (Firearm Related)?
The list below shows what we are in need of
    - rifles (all calibers)
    - ammo (mainly .22lr, .223, 7.62x39 and 20g shells)
    - clay pigeons
    - clay throwers
    - rifle rest for the younger shooters
    - paper targets- hearing protection
    - eye glasses

DNR-W will provide the 20g shotguns for this event.
They will also handle the bow and arrow portion of the clinics.

What should I bring (Non Firearm Related)?
The list below shows what we are in need of
    - Hot dogs & buns
    - Burgers & buns
    - Chips
    - Deserts
    - Drinks (Water, Kool-Aid, Soda, etc)
    - Plates
    - Cups
    - Napkins
    - Grills
    - Pop Up Canopy
    - Staple Gun and Staplers
    - Bug spray! Bug spray!

    How can I help?
We need instructors and a few cooks as well. In addition if you know of local gun clubs, shops or gun organization that would like to donate (personal, equipment, ammo) that would be great. DNR-W would also like to have tables of the NRA, 4-H, etc at the event to help promote the sport even more.

What about safety after all this is a public range? I have heard bad stuff about public ranges.
While the range is typically open to everyone for this special event the range will be closed to the public. Children will have to be accompanied by their parent/guardian/family member and DNR-W will require them to fill out the waiver forms.

LadyGhost and I will be there as well. Count us in to cook if needed. I'll post what all we will bring when we get closer, but I do know we have 2 10/22's iron sights and one Remington 597 scoped to bring for use. We will be bringing our canopy as well.

I will be there. I will be bringing the AR (Bushmaster) and the SCAR, both are 5.56/.223. I will be there to instruct as well. I will take care of Area II as needed. If we are trying to keep them all AR, that is fine as well

:( Sad. I just scheduled an Appleseed at Atterbury that same weekend. I mean, I love Camp Atterbury, but sadly I won't be able to help with this.

That said, if we can make the trade off and someone is willing to be responsible for them, I can loan you four .22s.

    2 - 10/22s with scopes
    1 - 10/22 with tech sights
    1 - Marlin 60 with a fixed 1x scope

Amy will be there to help cook or whatever else.

FYI, Blythe's in Griffith had boxes of clay pigeons out. Believe it was 100 plus for just over ten. As I have not bought any, not sure how that is on price.

Anyone have contacts with the following organization so we can see if they want to setup a table to hand out information:

    - boy scouts
    - girls scouts
    - 4-H
    - NRA
    - ISRA (Indiana State Rifle Associations)
    - Appleseed (ie. Amy can't make it so we might just have handouts)
    - others???

You forgot to add my ammo donation of 500 .22 (bulk box)....

And question, are we not wearing our EDC?

Probably should keep it put away huh?

I can do a 25 yard benched with a Ruger 10/22 iron sights and a Savage Mdl 64 scoped. Can also bring 500 rounds of .22 ammo.

If you have enough 25 yard instructors, I can switch it up to a 50 or 100 yard bench with a Savage .223 bolt rifle and an H&R .223 Handi-Rifle.

Are you afraid of the 5 year old "honorary INGO" girl?

Up to you if you want to bring or not bring your EDC.
At this point I don't think we are going to be shooting any handguns. W-DNR has not requested that (yet). From what I have seen in the past with new youth shooters (ie. 4-h, boy scouts) in the 6-14 year range they start them off with rifles.

For now I have you on the 25 but we might move you to the 50/100 since you have .223 as well. And being a "new member" (new to us NWI INGO) I don't want to split you and your guns up unless we have to. (ie. 10/22s and .223).

I know we will have more 10/22s show up as the date gets closer so I'm not too worried about them just yet.

    @AB
I'll keep you in the loop if we need your rifles. Thanks!
