    Question.

If you were this filmers spouse, and witnessed this entire episode... would you be within your legal rights to take defensive action? Fatal defensive action?

Are you ever within your legal rights to open fire on a LEO, first?

There was thread a couple of years ago that asked a question similar, about shooting at a cop in public. It was highly scrutinized. I think this video is fairly close to showing that sometimes you are justified. I would not have intervened in this particular situation, but damn, it would have sucked to be their!

Can you image if the guy, would have opened his front door & let out his 125 pound PIT BULL:D The COP wouldn't be happy:):

Wish the camera would have been pointed the other way so that we could see what all that screaming was really about. I believe the cop over stepped, but I wonder how much of that screaming was for the tape. This guy has been in the situation before and knew that there would be a payday for what the cop was doing. Just my :twocents:

Relax turbo. I just asked a question. I'm not sure why he just didn't say, "yep...I live here".

    Relax ?

I was just giving my opinion.

You agreed with the "dumbass" comment " I see. Seems to me any reasonable person that watched the VID would say the Cop was the "dumbass" and now the taxpayers will pay for the "dumbass" cop's actions.

The cop was leaving the scene and stopped and confrontedthe filmer. How stupid can you get?

I don't recall calling anyone a dumbass. Or agreeing anyone was a dumbass. If you read my response to machinegun's statement...you'll see I specifically edited the "dumbass" part out. My thoughts on his intelligence level has no bearing on the thread.

My only question in this entire thread I believe was I wondered why he said he didn't live there.

But I will openly state...that if the po-po ask *me* if I live there and I do...my response is..."yep".

Maybe since a police officer can lie legally, he figured he could say what he wanted to say, since he was doing nothing illegal on his own property.

What have we learned from this, to always keep a box of donuts in the other hand when you film the COPS;) just in case a cop gets anger:D

And there you have it. Obviously there had been no complaints of someone trespassing so why did the police officer stop? The officer was wrong the second he stopped and anything the resident done after that is moot.

As far as resisting illegal intrusion by law enforcement one only needs to look at Ruby Ridge or Waco to see what happens to citizens who resist. They either kill you, your wife, your kids and associates or trump up a so many charges you will be lucky to see the light of day ever again. Your better off just to take the beating and hope to get a little cash after it's all over.

Problem is I'm to old to take a beat-down from anybody, especially in my property from any thug with or without a badge:D
