I am loading 5.56 and plan to use H335 powder with a 55 gr. FMJBT. I have consulted several manuals and some say a SR magnum primer is necessary, some do not mention it. Anyone have any experience with this issue?
Only Powder Valley's customer service department could even hint at how many 8lb cans of H335 I've burned, but it is a bunch and I've never done it with a magnum primer. CCI 400s have done it all.

I've had the same experience. I've used both CCi 400s and the older Winchester WSMs with the silver cups with no problems. Since I load mainly for an AR now, I've switched to the CCI 41 but not because of any problem with the CCI 400s.
