I have 3 Tulip Poplar trees on my property. The largest is about 60ft. tall. They all seem to have Tulip Tree scale insects very thick up to about 1/2 way up. The insects are sucking out the sap at an incredible rate, and dripping it all over my cars and yard. I tried a Bayer insecticide applied at the roots intended to treat this scale a couple weeks ago, but I am not seeing any results.
I don't have any way of applying anything as high as I would need to go safely to apply hort. oil. I understand that only works for the crawler stage of these insects which happens in August, usually, anyway?
Any suggestions what can be done now?
