    Yep.

    If I didn't have total confidence in both my EDC's they would't be in the carry rotation.
    In my opinion even a 95% success rate isn't good enough, total confidence comes from complete reliability.

    Pretty much.
    Ruger LC9 - goes bang consistently.
    Beretta PX4 . 40 goes Boom whenever I pull the trigger.
    They're both mechanically sound, and I'm proficient enough that I can manipulate the controls in the dark.
    The equipment is sound, but you can't control the environment, your state of mind (anybody here ever get drunk?) or your physical condition (sometime when I wake up, my eyes are blurry - especially if I forget to take my contacts out).

    Even the best cops, soldiers, and special ops go down (DIES) sometimes....
    we are no different no matter what your ego tries to tell you...
