I pretty sure I have pitting in my .308 rifle barrel. I've cleaned it numerous times and it still looks bad. I deployed to Afghan thinking it would be ok for 5 months being properly cleaned and lubeicated but when I got home it was rust brown. I cleaned inside and out thought I was ok until I went to a friend's to shoot. It fired fine but but the brass would get stuck in the chamber. That happened twice before I got irritated and put it away. I pack cotton balls soaked in solvent in the chamber for 3 days then I put my cleaning rod in my drill and spun it at it slowest speed, it looks better than it did but my hopes are not high.
I don't know what else to do or who to even take it to. I called the manufacturer and they wanted me to send it to New York for who knows how long to give me good or bad news. I figured someone has to know something I don't or any gunsmiths near Anderson I could take it to.
The rifle is a Remington model 700p
