Made in your situation and the way your house is sit up the shot gun may work for you but for me it will not. My kids are on the main level and on the other side of the house. If I need to carry one of them I can not shot at the sametime with a shot gun. You would know that if you actually trained for that situation. I'm not knocking those that use a shotgun for home defense but some are fooling them selfs.
