In before one of the "too cool for the room" INGO'rs replies simply with "Who?" claiming to have never heard of him.

Honesty this morning when my wife told me he had died, I did not know who we was. I never knew his name, and have only see one F&F movie, the first one, so I guess I'm one of those "Who" people.

Regardless it's sad to see someone die at such a young age. RIP.

I have never heard of him and was not going to post in this thread....but then I saw your post.

Make that two ... never heard of the guy.

Me either. Then after I read it to see who he was,I was like "who gives a fu$%!
Like was posted people die in traffic accidents everyday, why should this make front page news, then I remembered he was "famous" and better than the rest of us.

My same thought when I heard the news and I share your sentiment.

I had the same response as many others when my wife told me this morning.... "Who?"

So, from what I gather, I fairly rich movie star dies while joyriding in his new Porsche. Yeah, I suppose that is news.

F&F is a very popular movie series with the youth. It has its own cult following. So people want to know, especially since the seventh movie was in progress for 2014. Add in the irony that it was a fast car driven by a race car driver that killed him, and it surely is newsworthy.

I haven't seen all of the films, but I've seen a few and liked them. Sorry if your empathy genes are on the fritz. I guess the inability of people to sympathise with a death of a well-liked personality is only eclipsed by their need to let everyone know they could give a ch*t on INGO.

    Sad.

My empathy genes are working just fine
My ability to sympathize with the family of someone dying is working just fine, no wishes for someone to die etc.
The need to let it be know you don't give a ch*t on INGO is no different than the need to boohoo about it on INGO
I just think there are people more deserving of my sympathy.. The parents burrying a child, Anyone giving their life for our country.
Someone dieing because they decided to drive fast is on the bottom of my list

I am yet another one of the "who" crowd. I'd never heard the name, never seen any of the movies mentioned in this thread, nor the TV shows he was in, as far as I know. I think it's sad when someone that young dies, it a terrible thing to happen, I feel bad for his family.

I had to ask my 15 year old son who this guy was.

Guess I'm too cool for the room.

SMiller, you should be a crash investigator. It seems you can determine speed from pictures of a burnt car. Know if they're speeding, what the speed limit is, everything, just from one picture. You're awesome!

They leveled a 45mph sign and came to a rest in front of a 25mph sign...

    Your whitness

Again with the "people we don't agree with should die" bull****... Why can't you people keep the craziness in the politics forum?

I guess the implied purple wasn't obvious enough...:dunno:

And I'm sure that most people here might suggest such atrocities, but if actually given the opportunity to make that call they wouldn't.

And if you WOULD truly like to see people you disagree with dead, please speak up so I can add you to my ignore list now.

I knew who he was as my kids loved those movies. I personally could not deal with more than 15 minutes of them but hey, I am just an old fart.

Everything I have read about him since he passed has been pretty positive. A good man's life cut short.

Bad decision to go fast at that time.

And has anyone actually heard the drivers name yet? So far it might as well be Voldemort it's so ignored. It's always referred to "Paul and the driver".

Rodas was a professional driver and did extremely well on one of the circuits. He was Walker's partner in a racing team.

I haven't heard anything at this point that indicates a cause for the accident. High speed…how high? There were skid marks (apparently) before he went into the light pole and subsequently into the tree. Something in the road? Mechanical failure? I'm sure we'll hear more.

Which is kind of ironic because the "youth" that is is popular with were infants or toddlers when the first one came out (2001). I told my wife he had died (saw it last night on yahoo) and she asked how? So I replied "In a giant fiery ball of irony." and she said "oh, a car crash"?
