No doubt. This guy is a Class A as*hat, and one has to wonder if he really is just this big of a DBag or if he's covertly working for the other side.

I am not the type to look for a conspiracy under every rock. However, if Bloomberg's millions is paying for Moms Demand Action, how hard would it be to pay a few guys to infiltrate the open carry rallies in order to make the movement as a whole look crazy? Throw in social media accounts filled with anti-government rantings, foul language, and just plain off-the-wall types of posts to further seal the deal. Since Open Carry Texas advertises where they are going to be having the rallies, send in these guys, take pictures that would sway the sheep to your side, then email them to MDA to use in their campaign. It is how I would do it.

Even if these two men were legitimate open carry activists, why are some people who are mistrustful of the MSM and groups like MDA so quick to believe the ONE picture of the two guys that keeps floating around is representative of the whole open carry movement down in Texas? Why are we so quick to form our opinions about the evil assault rifles in Chipotle from news stories that were probably written by anti-gun news organizations? How much of the story was true and how much was slanted by the writer's bias? I keep thinking that there has to be more to the story than what was repeatedly reported.

Shannon Watts, Moms Demand Action, Bloomberg, are capable of looking at trends just like we are. They too have taken notice of the explosive growth of the gun industry in the last few years driven by old and new shooters alike. I believe the open carry movement is one area that is being debated because of the renewed interest in the 2nd Amendment. If Moms Demand Action has any hope of enacting gun control they must undermine this interest. How do you do that? The most obvious way is by publishing a few of the most "extreme" photos of the open carry movement and using the sheep to spread lies or distortions in order to get your agenda accomplished. If they don't do what they can to demonize law-abiding gun owners NOW, more of the sheep will wake up and purchase weapons of their own. New gun owners means that it will be more difficult if not impossible to pass gun control in the next few years. And THAT I believe is the true purpose of Moms Demand Action. An organization dedicated to countering the surging grassroots interest in the 2nd Amendment that has occurred in the last 6 years. I could be wrong but that is my :twocents:.

I would say there is a very HIGH probability that if they haven't already, they will in the future. Folks like that don't fight fair, and will stop at nothing to push their cause. I don't think the chumps in the pictures were plants. Unfortunately there are some guys out there (and we probably all know 1 or 2 of them) that are just dumb enough to do that.

We have to remember that the media and those against the 2A will look for any slight flaw or cause and jump all over it. That is why the peaceful, respectful, "Commons sense" rallies have done well and received little media backlash, and where guys like the above are a wet dream for the anti-2A crowd.

Right or wrong, some of those on the fence about 2A will make some judgments based on their interactions. Some of them now think all gun owners are overweight, unkempt, and a little on the loony side and lack basic common sense.

I can think of a couple INGO threads of past that have gotten more then one pair of panties in a bunch. The general premise or better stated argument was how people should be presenting themselves. Like it or not if a person is walking around displaying a gun they are at that moment identified as a gun owner.

No need there are enough gun owners that do a far better job than any paid actor. Just browse past threads.

True; but either O.C.T. is run by way dumber than normal people or they have a mole
... the tip to start MdA's ranting about this
... ... appears to have been a tweet tagged to "@ MdA" 's proper twitter account as they headed to or were seated at the restaurant.

Why are they 'boasting' about it ... ??? and breaking TX code as well on top, if followup info in correct. gezzee.

I understand what the 'reported' goals of both OCT (which I'd say is a good thing) ... and 'between the lines' goals of MdA are ... (bad juice)
but - at the very least - in this instance - OCT fails on multiple levels.

I prefer a more direct approach, from Gun Nuts Media: Loathsome jackasses and the havoc in their wake | Gun Nuts Media

If you’re running around tearing up public spaces or deliberately being such an obnoxious twit that you succeed in curtailing the freedoms of other gun owners, knock it the hell off. You’re not a patriot or a sheepdog or whatever other pathetic label you want to try and paste on your feckless crap. You’re just an obnoxious twit. Sort your ***CENSORED*** out and act right, dammit.
From what I've been reading, this seems to be the prevailing view of this most recent event...I agree. Control yourself or others will attempt to do it for you.

Just my two cents. But, I haven't seen anyone mention that allowing open carry Carrying a "Long Gun" into a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission licensed business puts the business liquor licenses at risk. TABC Press Release Would you be willing to risk your business licensee?

QFT. and deserves to be reminded ... and thanks for the post (again!) to the link.

... The OCT group (not the two clowns in the most circulated photo) appears to have blown it.
I wasn't sure when I saw this initially if Chipotle served alcohol or not - but quotins since this is ACTUALLY a highly relevant part.
    and
part of the fail of Chipotle too. ... No need for a statement - just say - hey obey the law - law says no go in here.
    FAIL. FAIL FAIL.

    Starbucks, Chipotle, whats the third??
Cracker Barrel. We're 0/4 with the OC 'protest in the restaurant' thing.

Hell, we don't NEED Shannon Watts to get firearms banned everywhere. Apparently, we're going to do it to ourselves while simultaneously hooting our "I have the RIGHT!!" 'war cry'.

It seems that the militant open carry crowd in Texas has antagonized not only some business owners, but members of the legislature as well. I predict OC legislation for the next session (2015) will be DOA if there isn't a radical change in OC's tactics and image. It may already be toast. And this without the anti-gun crowd weighing in.

We don't have Sonic in my area. If it is a drive in I'm not sure how they would control me wearing my AR sitting in my car in the parking lot.
