Either my first or second time hunting (deer) with my uncle, there was a pack of the little bastards coming in and they scared off the deer that were coming in as well...he said he's going to get one...12g slug right in the middle of the forehead makes both eye balls pop out of socket, fyi.

You should see what a .308 directly up the poop shoot does to their eyeballs.....and everything in between.

We are the only real predators they have.

There is prime time to get them but we have hunted them up to deer season and directly after. My buddy gets a few from the deer stand every year.

    Here:

Clear as mud? That is straight from the DNR site and the second sentence directly contradicts the first.

I was just reading this as well.

Landowners may take coyotes at any time on the land they own or they may provide written permission for others to take coyotes on their land at any time, without a special permit. A valid hunting or trapping license or nuisance wild animal control permit is required to take a coyote on land other than your own.
Coyotes that are taken outside the hunting and trapping season by a landowner or someone with written permission from a landowner cannot be possessed live for more than 24 hours, and the live coyote cannot be sold, traded, bartered or gifted.
I found this on their site and that would indicate you can hunt them anytime. He would need a hunting/trapping license for the ones he would take at the neighbor's property even though he would have written permission I think. He doesn't need any license or permits to hunt our property for any season so he normally doesn't get anything other than a fishing license. Interesting...I will let him know he can get right on that carcass and blast whatever is hitting it. I'll have to see if we have any full moons in the immediate future. That is his favorite time to hunt.

Not really, a permit and a license are not the same. No permit is needed, by either, but a non landowner must still have a license.
if you have deer doing damage, you can get a permit to harvest out of season. Not needed for coyote.

The one he did shoot here a few years back was chasing deer and was taken from his stand. The one that was running with it got away.

So...this would be sort of like the .223 when it cuts the fox in half? That might have been overkill. :dunno: Not much left of those pelts to do anything with other than bury. That was messy!

Gotcha...so just a general hunting license for when he is not at our house hunting. No permits needed at either location since he has permission when he is on her private land.

    Poor shot placement.....:)

A .22-250 placed just behind the rib cage (not intended as the yote moved) will not leave much either.

    Must have a reply service.
    Still impressive.
It was a detailed reply answering my questing. The guys email signature claims that he's one of the owners of the company. He couldn't help me for this gun, but I'll definitely buy something off of them in the future if their customer service is that good. One thing that most gun related companies suck at is customer service.
