    After 19 years of carrying a 4" 1911 I'm going to a Glock 26?

Well I'm going to try it out at least. Gotta spend a lot of range time before making the change but with the way the world is going these days I think it's time for more mag capacity. I should probable just go completely off the deep end and buy a 19 but for some reason I am drawn to the 26?

Will the great 1911 gods still let me in heaven when its all over?

    EGADS!!!! The Horror!

Maybe he is really a Glock guy trapped in a 1911 guy's body. We need understanding and should commend him for his courage.

I carry 8rd mags in my 1911, the 26 is 10+1 but I will be carrying +2 on top of that (depending on the print under the shirt) and my spare mag will be a 15rd. Just can't touch that with a 1911 mag. With modern day carry ammo the 9mm I think is just as bad ass as the .45 when factoring in the extra ammo. Just my thought process on the whole thing. If it's right or will work out who knows?

Oh and don't worry I won't be selling any of my 1911's No chance in hell of that happening.

So you've got 26-28 reds of 9mm in two mags, two bulky mags. Carrying a 1911 with 8/1 in.the gun and two 8rd spares gives you 25rds of 45ACP problem solvers, all in slim flat mags, .two of which are easier to conceal than one Glock mag.
Now, what happens if you fumble the reload under stress, and drop the mag, say, right on the feed lips? ( I know Glock mags are supposedly indestructible, but they've never let me loose on one) Or what if you drop it down a stairwell, or it bounces out of view. What if you need to do a tactical reload? Can you easily shove the Glock mag into a front pocket?

I'm simply saying that all your eggs are in one basket, so to speak, and if your spare mag goes south you're SOL. With the 1911 and two spares you still have a "plan B".:twocents:

Glock = Perfection. 1911 = piece of crap.

That may or may not suppose to be in purple. :D

C'mon boys, we're all brothers under that great big tent. I've got a Sig 1911, special addition - carry it often. I've also got a G20 10mm I bought for backup while hunting in bear country - carry that often too.

Can't we all just get along, hug, and sing a little ***-Bah-Yah?
