I'm happy they addressed the issue by updating the posted rules. I'm still a little miffed about the "I'll call the police" shenanigans. I'm not sure if I can get past that.

If there is a cause to bring out the jackboots...

    Just sayin'.

Bad business decision on Point Blank's part. Their management should carefully review this policy. Law-abiding gun enthusiasts are fed up with all the hassles they're compelled to endure, and this one seems to have little justification in terms of enhancing range safety or limiting the range's liability.

At the very least, a good compromise (I know most of us are in no mood to compromise, but I try to be realistic and sometimes half a loaf is better than none) might be to waive the paperwork check for suppressors in particular, since they actually enhance range safety. This falls in line with the legislative initiative to deregulate suppressors because they are, indeed, an enhancement to firearms safety.

PS: I won't patronize PB as long as the current policy is in place and being enforced.

Perhaps if PB heard about everyone not going there due to this policy, they might reconsider.

If they haven't heard, it is because they were too damned lazy to open the link included in my message explaining that visiting after seeing their billboard the other day had been removed from my bucket list on account of the poor treatment you received.

I'll wait for BGF range reopens.

I went to PB in Carmel once, before Christmas to sight in red dot on my pistol. It was a rainy day a friend of mine is a member so I got to shoot for free.

Cant get over buying their target bullcrap.

All the brass I shot were pushed down range by the RSO, promptly.

Brass from next lane to my left hitting my head constantly.

Carmel people were pretty happy paying all that money, I'll stick with ECC for $65 a year.

    Outside the coup
I believe he is saying you have to buy targets from them.
    And Elwood Conservation Club

So on top of all this other crap, you can't bring your own targets and are forced to buy the ones they sell?? I cast & reload as well and it sounds like I can't have my brass back either.

Yeah, if that's accurate then I will never visit.

Never been my experience there. RO's have always asked if I want the brass and when I say I do, they always sweep all the brass into the rear of my stall. Also, not sure what you mean by target bullcrap. They have very cheap prices on their targets (.99 for ALL targets which is quite inexpensive compared to other ranges) and they have allowed me to bring my own in any time I've chosen to do so. I've used anywhere from small 8" round reactive targets, to full sized silhouettes. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but my experiences, after having gone several times a month since May of 2014, have all been very different.

I was there last week in Greenwood.

You can bring your own targets. As already mentioned, theirs are pretty cheap at 0.99.

You can keep your brass. The RO was sweeping up any of my brass to the rear of my stall for me.

Ive never had a problem there. I've always seen them treat me and others with respect. I really like they keep mailing free range time coupons.

Beech Grove Firearms should be opened back up this spring. They don't have a problem with NFA items or how fast I shoot. I'll keep my support with the local business that also supports this site.

I always bring my own targets, as I had purchased a mother load and still have plenty. Did someone tell you that you couldn't bring your own targets or did you just assume that? Just curious. The always ask me if I need any targets or ammo.

ljk was the one who posted about target "bullcrap", not me. I've never had an issue there. I don't have any NFA items, so the unwritten policy has no affect on me. I do agree with the OP that said policy should be posted, both online and in the range, to avoid problems. I have personally shot there at least once a week since they opened and love the place. Heck, I'm heading there today when they open... ;)

Anyone been in there recently with an NFA item? Did they ask to see the stamp?

I don't have an NFA item but I did go to the Carmel location a couple weeks ago with some other INGO members. I perused the range rules beforehand and saw this as the last FIREARM AND AMMUNITION HANDLING RULE:
    • Shooters that possess a Class III item, will be asked to show their Federal Tax Stamp for that item before use

I've shot NFA items at the Carmel store frequently. As far as showing a stamp, all I've ever done is flash the stack of paper copies to the guy signing me onto the range. Nobody read them, just checked that I had stamps.

Targets? I buy those nice targets for $1 and use them at other ranges. You could mail order some cheaper but $1 isn't bad for an off the shelf 3'x4' color target.

Brass? Speak up. Tell the RSO "keep my brass please". Sweeping a tripping hazard out of the way is a good idea. You don't want the n00b on the next lane to slip, fall and put a round anywhere than down range.
