Most every shooter has experience the scope coming back and hitting you near the eye. my first scoped gun was a a.270 WSM. Yeah should have really pulled it in tight, had no idea it was the much of a punch. Luckily no blood, i think my ego got hurt the most :)

Cut eyelid from a scoped Model 37 Ithaca. Same gun gave me a bloody nose from the top of thumb being driven into my snot locker from the recoil. Learned to not wrap my thumb around the stock pretty quick. Traded it to my dad for a wheel horse lawnmower. Never missed that gun.

I pinched part of my palm while cleaning an old pump shotgun. It drew blood, and because of the location, I kept splitting it back open for weeks afterwards.

90 slugs from the bench (about 40 one day, 50 the next), tryin' to get a POS Mossberg 835 sorted out before deer season.
Rifled bore, hated a couple brands of $$$ sabot slugs. Bore was rough, cantilever didn't converge with bore........ended up shooting best with 3" WW fosters.
Deer down, 1 shot, on the mark, 90 yards. Next one was over 150 and chest thumped 3 times on a trot.
Buddy got the bbl after season, said it loved Lightfields (the 3.5" not available when I had it).

Gun then camo'd for geese, and took a few. Sold to a bud at fantastic price when Bismuth shot came out.
Back to 3" 1100 and never looked back.

That was the last Mossberg I had :)

I wish I could say there was no blood when it happened to me but I ended up with 9 stitches. There were 2 below the surface and 7 on top.

The bad part is the "Doctor" who stitched me up look about as old as Doogie Howser and told me what was going to hurt the worst was when he put the anesthetic in. After the first two or three digs with the needle I told him he was going to have to get me a bullet to bite on. That's when he said " oh, I forgot to put the anesthetic in".

Needless to say the two stitches under the surface hurt the worst.

Got my hand sliced and pinched by the slide of a lilliputian 25ACP--I know, one isn't supposed to have those. I don't anymore.

    44mag. revolver knuckle

Scope-eye trying to double check the zero on my 870 with 3" slugs, using a log as a "field expedient" bench rest. Blood yes; stitches no.

M249 SAW cooked off a round just as I was pulling the charging handle back to perform immediate action. Little tiny pieces of brass would intermittently work their way out of my face for years afterwards.

Why did you have the feed tray cover open on immediate action? Or did it cook off as it was ejecting out the side? That sucks, though! Glad it didn't turn out worse, as it easily could have.

I had fired quite a few rounds, not sure how many but it was (obviously) hot. It stopped in the middle of a burst, so I rolled it slightly left and started to pull the CH to the rear. That's when it went KaBoom. It's a good thing I wore glasses; this was in about '86 which is looong before the Army decided eyepro was a good thing.

One time I was driving a truck, just outside of Fallujah, and some ammo from a BIG gun got blowed up in my face. I got my right hip mangled, some discs blown out in my back and neck, and a traumatic brain injury. They retired me and I get free money every month.

    What did I win?

Bad arthritis? Not much of a prize (and thank you!).

I shot a friends serbu with 1 high brass round. It was just horrible, like holding an M80. I didn't expect to have a hand when I looked down.

    10 gauge. Heavy hand load.

Toss a clay directly overhead and see if the new kid can hit it.

Didn't mount the gun to my shoulder. Broke my nose. Lots of blood.
What a hoot! Funny stuff all around.

I have zero tolerance for asshatery like that.

    But i broke the clay.

You will observe the placement of the hands, particularly the right thumb position. There is a reason for this.

Someone here on INGO posted a gunshot wound, made a thread.

A visitor at one of the NWI INGO Meet & Shoots got scope eye from a .50 cal rifle.

Bloody nose from thumb wrapped around buttstock on a 870 with 3" slugs.

    Garand thumb.

    A couple of minor pinches.

Bruises from sighting in slug guns.

Blister on cheek from 5.56 brass stuck under my chinstrap from the guy next to me on an m4 zero range.

Shoulder pain from lugging an m240b around.

    I've had it easy.
