I picked up a Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm carbine last weekend. Was a great deal to me bc it came with a Vortex strikefire red dot and several 30rd magazines. My plan is to purchase a 92 series pistol so I can have a setup that shares ammo and magazines. In my crazy overthinking imaginary zombie apocalypse situations, I believe this type and f setup would be outstanding in an urban close quarters environment.

What else would others prefer? I think a glock/ar9 setup would work great but I hate blocks and ar9s are expensive to build. There s also the old school revolver and lever action setup that is nothing but cool and nostalgic.

    What others are out there?

Sorta old school, but Marlin Camp 9 and Smith & Wesson 5900 series.

...which is a combo I plan on putting together when it drifts higher up on my priority list.

Just Right Carbine, Sub2K for Glock 17 and of course Glock 17/34/17L and 26. That gives you a rifle, backpack rifle, EDC and a backup. They all share the same mags.

and from left field, the Calicos

Not that I'd advocate them as the pinnacle of non-finickyness for SHTF but they do fit the pistol/carbine mag/ammo sharing criteria.

Old school, but proven effective and durable.

Do like and want the Beretta 92 or are you just gonna so you can have the set up?

This topic is something I can't believe more companies haven't capitalized on yet. They have to know they'd sell millions of them.

On the right, what I carried until a few years ago, S&W model 19 (.357), S&W model 60 (.357, with Hilary lock disabled).

And a stock photo of a Taurus Thunderbolt (.357), which is currently awaiting a rear sight.

Coupled with 2 speed strips on the belt, which the ammo could go to any of, I thought I was adequately covered.

I had the CX4 in .45acp for a while. It shared mags with my Cougar. But, 8 round mags in a carbine is kind of a let down. Traded the carbine off. Kept the Cougar. In keeping with some of the above posts, I love my Marlin lever, and Ruger Blackhawk. Both in .41 mag. My wife has the Taurus Circuit Judge and Judge.
