Anyone can say that they're sorry and not mean it - happens every day in court systems around the world.

Don't want to over philosophise OP's thread, but:
Old religions had penence that seemed pretty harsh. I think that if those that were truely sorry, would indeed follow the instruction of the religous leader.

Now that has nothing really to do here nor there - just a passing observation.

. (NSFA language) This is now guaranteed to all go incredibly wrong.
(Edited to keep INGO out of any possible issues. The posting is at 4Chan, in their /b/ section. Go at your own risk.)

    To the OP -

Sorry that your son's Christmas was tainted by this incident. I'm glad to hear that he will get his toy back and that you've gotten an appology from at least a few of those involved.

With that said, I'm disgusted by the entire thread. I'm disgusted that someone would steal from a child, and it appeared that the individuals involved had at least some sort of planning. There were several things done to distract the children around the object, as well as some of the other adults. This was a well thought out plan that was executed like they had hoped. Unfortunately for them they got caught.

But, I am also disgusted that the video was published, and the amount of folks that have jumped on board with what appears to be a lot of defamation of the folks involved.

To the OP, I wouldn't be so sure that you are 100% in the right on this. You did handle things very well at first asking for the appologies, but now you have taken you "Bargaining Chip" and used it for what would otherwise be known as blackmail.

To the rest that have jumped on the bandwagon...do you feel good about yourselves that you are trying to destroy this person/people over this incident? What she did was clearly wrong, and she should apppologize for it. But should she be publically scorned and humiliated? Have you ever done something wrong, and if so, should we publically humiliate you too in front of your friends, neighbors, and employers?

Aren't the posts demonstrating behavior no better that what she exhibited? Petty and selfish are just two words that come to mind after reading a lot of the posts, and that seems to be exactly what was behind her actions in the first place.

Something was done wrong to another individual, but two, three, four and more wrongs don't make a right. This could have ended fairly well, after some of the appologies were accepted. Perhaps there would have been a rift in the family for some time to come, and that could be dealt with privately. But what was otherwise a private matter has now become very public, that will have lasting effects for many that were involved.

No I do not feel good about it, when it was just you-tube and a few views then maybe she would have come clean. Now the original poster is posting in other places and the comments are WAY out of line.

The punishment no longer fits the crime...

I have pm'd the poster and asked that he take the you-tube video down.:noway:

    To the OP -

    Everything just said above.:yesway:

I can't believe that we are actually having a debate on this forum about doing away with the non 2A politics threads on here because they take away from a "gun forum", yet we have over 5 pages of this here. Yes, the thief is a lowlife and should have been confronted and kept within the family. Just by clicking a link in this thread, I was taken to a page that showed nude photos of supposed teens. So we now possibly have INGO directly linked to a wesite that may or may not contain child porn. Plus we are now linked to youtube with vile comments being made. Also, many of the same poster names on youtube match the names on here.

I just find it amazing that so many here seem so concerned what image we Indiana Gun Owners are putting out there and we have this on here.

It's /b/. It's not even begun to get bad, yet. /b/tards are the worst thing that could possibly happen to anyone. They're like terrorists, without bombs and guns. This debacle has now become a sh**storm. Absolutely no good can come of having /b/ involved. OP had better hope he wasn't the one who posted the links there.

I tend to agree with jplomenberg16.... what she did was despicable and she does need to make amends but some of the comments posted at some of those sites are far beyond the pale for something like this. It is starting to remind me of the Roman Colosseum. While the original intent and indignation was fine, it has blown well out of proportion. It should have stayed a family issue since the whole family has now been dragged into the streets to be stoned, figuratively speaking, of course (I hope). The punishment no longer fits the crime and way too many people are taking too much joy in heaping hate onto people.
