    Reason I ask is my lgs has one $1100 out the door. I currently do not own a shotgun and I'm thinking about adding one to my collection. They look and feel great ergonomics wise.

    I'd take a Beretta 1301 over the Benelli... And over all other comers in the semi-auto market, honestly.

    All things being equal to the two Italian Stallions mentioned above - the softer feeling recoil system of the 1301 gets the nod over the inertia-driven system of the Benelli.

    So, if you say you can get a Benelli for $1200 - I say go for it. And you can also probably get a 1301 in that same price range, too. Both are highly proven designs vs. the newcomer.
