    Morning folks.

Little Frankie only got up once last night with her ear infections. Mama and I were both frustrated because she didn’t want held, she didn’t want milk, she didn’t want a snack, changed her diaper…. Nothing. All she wanted to do was lay face down on the floor and cry… thankfully mama was able to get her to go down finally…. She still fought it, but she finally gave in.

Received another part of our Yukon build last night. Floor liners. I’d been wanting to get a set of Weathertech fitted plastic mats for it. However I dug around to see if there was anything else out there since they aren’t cheap… Found the Smartliner on Amazon, reviews good, compared specs. Everything pretty much the same, except the Smartliners have a lifetime warranty. Will get them installed probably this weekend.

    I was -5 in ‘87….

Today is engine block prep and cleanup for a 1938 Chevrolet 216ci inline-6 for a ‘38 Pickup. We currently have 5 engines apart for rebuild in our shop….

I bought a 37 Chevy truck many years ago. The 216 had frozen, and the block was cracked. Found a bigger stovebolt and swapped it out.
The funny part, was getting rid of the 216. Tossed it in the dumpster at work with the help of a few buddies. Ten minutes later, the truck showed up to pick up the dumpster. It was probably his first stop of the day, because he was empty. When the 216 hit the bottom of the trash truck from 15 feet, it shook the building.

I need to get the family room project done so I can get back to my '98 BMW IRAN (Inspect and Repair As Necessary) project. Next up is the driveshaft rebuild to (hopefully) cure a driveline vibration. Then, I'll overhaul the cooling system.

The family room is coming along well though. A major milestone was reached over the weekend with the header over the back window being replaced. The second story is now properly supported again. I didn't like how it was built originally, so I beefed it up a bit going back in. As built, an 8' header was supported by a single jack stud at each end. It's now resting on a pair of sistered studs. Next up is a couple of sections of top cap, then I replace a floor joist. The challenge on the floor joist is that it's 18' long.

I’m being tasked with my first bathtub install. Replacing the old person step thru soaking tub our house came with… Would anyone here need one of those? Works well!

    Went to the doctor yesterday.

Making small talk while she looks through test results.

Doc interrupts her own sentence and says, "we should do an EKG now?".

    "Now?" I respond faintly.

    "Yes, now".

End result was the EKG is fine and I now have proof of a possessing a heart.

My reasons for sharing this is we've been discussing ages recently and I would advise those of you under 50 is to stay young, healthy and in shape....

I'll second that. It's far better to maintain good health than it is to try to regain it when older.
