Green Card holder would be my minimum standard. Wouldn't have security clearance issues like with the Military so that's a plus. Being able to communicate would be vital, of course there are a lot of American citizens who need subtitles.

My biggest fear would be that it would turn into a woke box checking exercise. Don't lower the standards to account for some Intersectionality Scale.

Oh, he might have hired a record number, sadly, so has a record number left. We have funds to hire 250 a year. We are lucky to get 90.... We have the money, we cannot find the candidates.

The two articles I've read didn't contain enough specifics for me to fully understand exactly who/which illegal citizen would be eligible for hire. Both articles did clearly state that non-citizens weren't eligible under federal law. Kinda sounds like Illinois will be hiring federal criminals to be their cops. Great.

Ironically, most of their government is made up of people who should be federal criminals.

I just want competent professionals at this point...society ran most of the good ones away. I steer most people who ask me about LE away from the job.

Served with alot of guys from different countries. Most were good dude. What really hurt was their accents. Ya couldn't understand them in person hardley and then on the radio it was impossible.

The only time we ever needed to call 911, my wife could not understand the woman. I got on the phone and she sounded like she was from Ghana mixed with Chicago 'hood. I could barely understand her and I went to school and am still friends with men from Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt and Johannesburg.

Like the Korean Mathematics professor I dropped in college, unfit for the job due to language skills. If I was in their country, it would be my problem, in my country it is their problem

This right here. This is being done in progressive strongholds to allow them to build their armies of goons loyal to the party, not to the people. While they say it’s in the name of diversity, the single-digit percentage of applicants who would be real American patriots signing up to the do the job will be vastly outweighed by the majority who just want a paycheck and will be happy to do the bidding of the masters holding the leash.

So many already say that we are subservient to the powers that be and will do what the brass says just so we don’t lose our jobs…this policy is literally the enactment of that ideal. This is the “Great Replacement Theory” put into practice beyond the mere population level, but at the government level now too. We weren’t defunded, we were just placed into the entropy cycle of becoming the very thing we fought against - an agent of the State, rather than a servant of the people. And this has nothing to do with the individuals (as a whole whole) who pinned on the badge and swore an oath to serve, but rather a systematic decay of society and the authority granted to us by the people we serve. Many of us still serve in various capacities, but it is not the same job as it was 20 years ago, and I fear that it will not be the same job in five years as it is today.
