The 308 for me is better because I reload. It uses less powder to do the same things a 3006 will do.
The rifle you have will make more difference than the round.
russc Thank you very much for your help.
I have loaded 10 round of 45 Colt. I used 21 grains of 296 and 230 grain bullets. That is a starting load. I will let you know how it goes.
russc2542 if I go into a gun shop and ask for 45 colt rounds for my lever gun they will ask what brand and give me a box.. I go into the same shop and ask for a box of 45 colt rounds for my Judge he will give me the same box I got for the lever gun.
Now i go to the range and shoot them both...
I am looking for real world information on reloading for the 45 Colt Circuit Judge. Any information would be of help. Thank you much for your time.
One question I have is can you use the same ammo that is used in a lever gun in the Judge? I have read some postings that say you can't. They claim...
I am looking for information on reloading for the Circuit Judge. My Son got me one and I am looking to reload for it. Before it is asked, Yes I reload for most of the stuff I shoot.
My concern is that from what I have read It isn't as strong as say a lever action rifle and that I can't use...
More years back than I care to think about when I started reloading I loaded up some rounds that worked well in my 700. I put 20 in a box and put them in my hunting pack.
When I got out to my Dad's place. I unloaded my gear and went in to check with Dad.
I went to load the rifle and noticed...
My Son gifted me with a rifle that shoots 45 long colt. I have been looking for loading parts and can't fiend them. I first started looking for loaded rounds. Their was just no way I would pay that much for any round. So I now have a rifle that I can't shoot.
I had no idea things had gotten so...
Frost line is 3' below grade. You will have to go 6" below that plus what ever the thickness is of the thing you set the post on, like a rock. We will say the rock is 3", so you will dig a hole 45" deep by 12" square. Then dig 8" down around the hole to make a 2' square around the hole.
Drop...
My favorite auto is the Browning High power. I have one in 9mm and never had a problem with it. It was very accurate carried enough rounds to get you out of trouble and it shot everything I fed it. Also it wasn't hard to carry. My second favorite is a S&W model 39. It was the first auto I ever...
BehindBlueI's, I have to say I would love to see all importers live with the same rules that our companies have to live with to sell stuff in the U.S. It would be better for the earth and for all people. I know things would cost more at first, then that would change. Who knows, we might just get...
From what I have read we eat more beef than any other country. That beef had a skin that is shipped over seas to make coats shoes and other such stuff. Then shipped back in to the US and sold for a lower price than it could be made in the US. How is this possible? Could it be that Co are getting...
The human hair will only work if the deer are not around people. Where I live they play and eat just on the other side of the fence while the dogs bark at them. Hair don't work in my garden. I have to use a electric fence. That is the only thing I have had work. I run it up between rows and...
I have the thirty amp one they sell and use it for the RV trailer as well as black outs. I had it hooked up to a battery, but that was more trouble than it was worth. I now just use the pull cord. I have had no trouble out of it. I try and run it at least once a month to make sure it works when...
I like Kaufmans idea. I built one two years ago and it seems to be the one I grab when I want to shoot a AR. I have built ARs in 6mmx45, 9mm and 5.56.
After I finished the 6mm x 45 I thought it was the best round for punching papper. Making a half inch group at one hundred yards was the norm...
