OP, what specific pistol are you going to carry? Learn all you can about it. Get to understand every detail of it there is. Find videos, or instructions to completely disassemble and reassemble it. If you don't feel comfortable actually doing that yourself, find a trusted friend to help, or...

I'm not getting it either. Pay lakes, even though I avoid them at all costs, are businesses making money, providing jobs, and hopefully paying taxes. It's not like the river is going to get over-fished.
